Description:

Join printmaker Jenna Y. Webb for a two-hour linocut workshop during her residency at Olive Stack Gallery. Building on the stamp carving workshop she led during her last visit, this hands-on session introduces the basics of relief printmaking, carving your own linoleum block and pulling your first hand-inked print. No prior experience necessary.

All materials and tools provided for use during the workshop, including: ink, ink rollers, carving gouges, soft cut lino (15x20cm), Fabriano Tiepolo cotton paper, barrens, sketching paper, transfer paper, sketching pencils, and burnishing tools.

Artist Bio:

Jenna Y. Webb is a relief printmaker, mixed-media, and digital artist based in Lincolnton, North Carolina. With over a decade of experience in linocut, she blends traditional hand-carved, hand-burnished printmaking with contemporary approaches, including digital sketching and design. Her work spotlights endangered and threatened species, fragile ecosystems, and the quiet details of conservation. Jenna's exhibition history includes numerous group and juried shows across North Carolina, where she has received recognition including Best in Show at a regional Small Works Competition and an Honorable Mention for a juried art award, both in 2024. Her work is held in a permanent museum collection and has been featured in two regional arts publications. Her public art includes multiple commissioned murals. Alongside her studio practice, Jenna runs a graphic design business offering branding, illustration, and digital design services to small businesses. In 2025, she completed her first artist residency at Olive Stack Gallery in Listowel, Co. Kerry, Ireland, resulting in Red List, hand-carved linocut portraits of Ireland's endangered species, and her first solo exhibition. This October, she returns to Olive Stack Gallery for a second residency, continuing her exploration of Ireland's endangered species. Alongside her studio practice, Jenna teaches printmaking workshops and remains actively engaged in public art and community arts programming across North Carolina.
