Valerie Ann Lane Valerie Lane was born in Bristol, England. She chose a career in Architecture, Cartography and Illustration, using her drawing skills while working for English Heritage and The National Trust, while at the same time continuing to paint. Bristol houses the Royal West of England Academy where Val was fortunate to work under and with accomplished and established Artists, it was during this learning curve that Val exhibited at the R.W.A Val moved to Kerry over twenty years ago, where she paints and works on commissions from her studio in Derrynane. She also experiments with etching and engraving along with various other mediums. Her first passion is still for the human form which she finds repeatedly in nature it self, her painting has evolved becoming stronger and more free, while still retaining her original love for drawing and watercolours. Val has exhibited throughout the UK and Ireland including Gallery 44 and the Lavitt Gallery Cork and the Blue Leaf Gallery Dublin and her work is found in collections in many countries.
